PICNIC SEASON IN SOUTHLAND
EXCURSIONS TO BLUFF AND COLAC TOMORROW The picnic of the combined schools of the Winton district was held at Colao Bay on Wednesday, when about 750 travelled by special train. The Otautau district combined schools’ picnic was held at Colac Bay the same day and 267 persons went by train. Today the combined schools of the Edendale district will hold theif picnic at Bluff and the pupils of the Riverton district schools will also go to Bluff. There will be several picnics tomorrow and if the day is fine there will be big crowds of children at Bluff and Colac Bay. The pupils of the schools of the Waimea Plains district will travel to Bluff, making the round trip. They will go to the port via Luriisden and Winton and will return through Gote. The North Invercargill School will hold its picnic at Bluff tomorrow and the pupils of the Woodlands district schools will travel to Colac for their picnic. The All Saints (Gladstone) Sunday School and the Tuatapere district schools will also hold their picnics at Colac tomorrow.
