TWO MILLION OUT OF WORK

BRITISH LABOUR MOTION EXPRESSES CONCERN (British Official Wireless) (Received February 9, 6.30 p.m.) > RUGBY, February 8. It is stated that the Laboiir Opposition in the House of Commons has decided to move a vote of censure on the subject of unemployment. It is expected that the motion will be taken next week.

The motion deplores the fact that more than 2,000,000 persons are without work, views with concern the evidence of widespread malnutrition and expresses the opinion that an immediate improvement in the standard of maintenance is urgently necessary. The motion also regrets “the Government’s continued failure either to produce plank for the provision of work and wages under the present system or to initiate a / policy recognizing that the problem can be solved only by the application of socialist principles.”
