GERMAN AIR FORCE REORGANIZATION
ADDED STRIKING POWER
DESIRED
(Received February 4, 7.10 p.m.) BERLIN, February 3. Herr Hitler has decreed the reorganization of the German air force to promote preparedness and to increase its striking power. Some of the personnel and material of the air force will be appointed to the navy. An air weapons commission has been created. The Berlin correspondent of The Times says the reorganization of the German air force means that in future the German air force will be divided into three separate air fleets—west, north and east—commanded by General Sperrle, General Felmy and General Kessering respectively. There is no mention of a southern command. It is suggested that Italy is apparently being left to look after the south.
