AIRFORCE MONOPLANE CRASHES

MACHINE AND PILOT BURIED 20 FEET IN EARTH (Received February 3, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 2. The force with which a Royal Air Force Hawker Hurricane monoplane crashed when going at a speed of 400 miles an hour from a height of 2000 ft buried the machine and pilot 20ft in the earth. The body has not yet been recovered.
