CHAMPIONSHIPS IN CANTERBURY TWO RECORDS BROKEN (United Press Association) ■ CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. The Canterbury swimming championships were begun this afternoon when two records were broken. W. Hart broke the New . Zealand record for the intermediate boys’ 100 yards backstroke by 9 1-5 seconds. Miss R. Low broke her own provincial record for 100 yards backstroke by 4 seconds.
