Miss Edna Wilson Honoured
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION AT SOUTH HILLEND
On Tuesday evening a larewe'l dance was given Miss Edna Wilson in the South Hillend Hall before her marriage and departure from the district. Music was supplied by Mrs A. Dykes and Mr W. Bailey, and an extra was played by Miss E. Millar. Mr J. Plunkett was master of ceremonies.
Mr J. Langford, on behalf of her many friends present, asked Miss Wilson to accept a sum of money and wished her happiness in the future. Mr West, sen., replied for Miss Wilson in the unavoidable absence of Mr J. West, jun. Mrs W. J. Langford, president of the Limehills branch of the Women’s Division made a presentation on behalf of the members. Items were given by Mrs J. Kean (songs), Miss M. Dykes (recitations) and Misses M. Lindsay entertained the young people of Waimatuku at a happy childrens party at her home. Her guests were Ngaire and Phyllis Fowler, Peggy Buchanan, Phyllis Smith, Connie Buchanan, Nancy Clark, Doreen and Ngaire Buchanan,' Joy McAra, Ngaire and Ainsley Rolls. WYNDHAM Miss Mary Johnstone, Christchurch, is the guest of her parents, Mr and Mrs W. H. Johnstone. Miss Hilda Baird, Waimate, is the guest of Dr J. H. Baird and Mrs Baird, Balaclava street. Miss Gwen Hopkins has returned from a camping holiday at Cromwell with Mr and Mrs J. Hardy, Invercargill. Mrs W. J. Currie and Mrs C. Marshall, Balaclava street, have returned from Dunedin. Mi- and Mrs H. Parr, Redan, have left by car to spend a holiday at Timaru.

McCracken, Dunedin, were the guests of Mr and Mrs A. H. Jones, Florence street, last week-end. Mr and Mrs D. D. Hopkins, accompanied by their son, Boyd, and Mrs J. D. Hopkins, have left on a motor tour to Christchurch, Mrs A. Greenlees, Redan, and her two daughters, Kitty and Jean, are spending a holiday at Oamaru. Mr and Mrs R.
