REGISTER OF STUD STOCK BREEDERS
VALUABLE NEW ANNUAL PUBLICATION The need for an accurate and up-to-date register of stud stock breeders in New Zealand has been felt for a considerable time, but the lack has at last been filled by the enterprise of The Christchurch Press Co., Ltd., which has compiled and issued The New Zealand Stud Stock Register. This is a full list of recognized breeders of all classes of livestock and should be of considerable value, both to breeders and to pastoralists wishing to confirm the bona tides of vendors of stock.
The register is of interest as an indication of the extent to which the breeding of purebred stock is carried on in New Zealand. All the breeds of sheep, cattle and horses carry the names of a big number of breeders and a study of the list suggests that the agitation for the introduction of. new blood from foreign countries is superfluous. The arrangement of the information contained in the register is designed to make consultation an easy matter. The publishers announce that it is their intention to publish the register annually and the regular appearance of such a valuable reference book will be widely welcomed.
