TUATAPERE

SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL CONCERT The Tuatapere school children presented a very enjoyable concert to a big audience in Lawson’s Hall. Much credit is due to the teachers for their help in making the concert a success, and also to Mr Morris, who took much time and trouble in making the “shoe’ for the nursery rhymes number. Mr E. Morris, chairman of the school committee, thanked those present for attending in such big numbers. He also congratulated the children on the perfection of their items. Mr G. Higgins acted as chairman for the concert. Following was the programme:— Play, “The Three Bears”; drill dis—play, boys; play, “The Rabbit’s Tail”; song, “The Old Woman and the Pedlar”; play, the infants; song, “Under Our Cottage Window”; play without words (humorous); song, “Nair Me Oh”; nursery rhymes; song,. “Summer is a cornin’ in”; dance (Miss Catto’s pupils); play, “Cinderella”; song, “Lullaby”; drill display, girls; play, “The Room with looking-glass walls”; song, “At the mid-hour of night”; verse speaking, “Song of the sea winds”; sketch, “The velvet trousers”; Maori song; dance (Miss Catto’s pupils); play, “In school”; song, “Now is the hour.”
