SHOW CATTLE SOLD
FAIR PRICES PAID FOR BULLS There was a fair attendance of buyers at the sale of show cattle held at the show grounds after the awards had been made. The entry included Shorthorn, Friesian and Jersey cattle and, although the sale was rather restricted because of dairy farmers obtaining their dairy bulls at the sale last month, several sales were made. • The sale was conducted by Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. The Shorthorn sale was quite brisk and the following sales were made:— On account of Mr Peter Campbell (Wyndham), a two-year-old bull at 21J guineas to Mr Thomas Dempster (Wrights Bush), and a yearling bull to Mr J. H. Buckingham (Putangahau) at 20 guineas. On account of Tait Brothers (Greenhills): A two-year-old Friesian heifer to Mr I. Young (Waihoaka) at 15 guineas. A yearling Friesian bull was sold on account of Mr James Brown (Waianiwa) to Mr W. K. Ingles (Kamahi) for 30 guineas, and on account of the
same vendor a yearling was sold to Mr N. Dawson (Kennington) for 17 guineas. A yearling Jersey heifer offered on account of James Pullar and Sons (Winton) was bought at 14| guineas by Mr A. C. Carswell (Toa), and a yearling bull at 20 guineas by Mr H. Stuck (Seaward Bush). A Jersey cow sold on account of Mr R. Russell (Waikiwi) went to Mr G. McGill Brown (Ryal Bush) for 15 guineas.
