MIDDLE SCHOOL CHOIR.

» RECITAL THIS EVENING A recital by the Invercargill Middle School choir will be given in the Victoria Hall this evening. Not only is the choir bringing school singing to a high standard, but it is giving, its services free to help outside organizations. The programme was prepared throughout the winter to provide the musical background to the commemoration of St. Andrew’s Day by the St. Andrew’s Scottish Society. Unfortu.nately, the night was one of the wettest of the year and many people were prevented from attending.' So many requests for a repeat performance reached the head teacherthat he finally agreed to submit the programme with some alterations as a means of inviting those who are sympathetic to school music to assist in providing a fund for an extension of the school work in musical appreciation.
