NO SETTLEMENT REACHED
CASE BEFORE CONCILIATION COUNCIL A sitting of the Conciliation Council was held in Invercargill yesterday to hear a dispute between the Ohai District Underviewers’,' Deputies’ and Shot Firers’ Union and the employers. The commissioner, Mr S. Ritchie, presided. The assessors for the applicai.t union were Messrs T. McNeilage (Ohai), A. Prendiville (Nightcaps), R. Shedden (Nightcaps) and A. McLagan (Greymouth) and for the respondent employers Messrs G. Tinker (Nightcaps), A. McKenzie (Invercargill), J. Hughes (Ohai) and G. L. Cross (Invercargill). No settlement of the dispute was reached and the case will go forward to the Arbitration Court; but it was agreed that either party should have the right to request from the commissioner a further sitting of the council before the dispute was finally submitted to the Court. *
