INCREASE IN NUMBER OF BIRTHS

MONTHLY FIGURES FOR INVERCARGILL Seventy-five babies were born in the Invercargill district during November. This figure represents an increase of three compared with the births for November 1937. In the returns of deaths and marriages decreases are shown. Following is a comparative table of registrations of births, deaths and marriages in Invercargill for November 1938 and 1937:—

FEWER BIRTHS IN DUNEDIN DUNEDIN, November 30. Although the figures for deaths and marriages for the month of November remained about the same as for the same period of last year, there was a marked decrease in the number of births, the figures being 35 lower than for November 1937.
