BRIDGE EVENING

BLUFF GOLF CLUB The final bridge evening of the Bluft Golf Club for the year was held in the Plunket Society’s rooms. . The prize-winners were Miss M. Irwin and Mr H. W. Newman. Those present included Dr and Mrs A. R. Ross, Mr and Mrs D. E. S. Mason, Mr and -Mrs H. W. Newman; Mesdames F. J. Callan, Willeys, A. Riley, F. M. Fumiss, McAhan and N. Stewart and Sister Casey; Misses Maud Irwin, L. Hoffman, Mavis Urwin, E. Lopdell, E. Sinclair and D. Irwin and Mr G. Waddel. MATAI IN STRAIT It was reported at Bluff yesterday that the Government lighthouse steamer Matai passed through Foveaux Strait during the morning on its periodical inspection of the southern lights and beacons. The ship is expected to berth at any time and will probably be in port during the week-end.
