SKI-ING TECHNIQUE ILLUSTRATED

FILM SHOWN FOR BIG GATHERING By courtesy of the Consul for Switzerland, ski-ing enthusiasts in Invercargill were last evening able to follow the methods of the coaching and ski-ing technique of the world famous Swiss ski-ing schools when a moving picture, taken entirely in the winter sports districts of Switzerland, was shown to a big gathering in the Tudor Lounge. The film dealt with all phases of the sport, from elementary coaching and principles to finished ski running. Slow motion shots of experts performing the most intricate manoeuvres allowed the audience fully to grasp the necessary requirements of good ski-ing. The photography throughout the 1200 feet of film was of special interest, and superb technique fully illustrated the title “Beautiful Switzerland.” At the end of the screening, Mr Neil Watson, the president of the club, extended the thanks and appreciation of the club for the use of the film.
