FIRST AID TUITION IN SCHOOLS

100 JUNIOR CERTIFICATES AWARDED TO PUPILS (United Press Association) OAMARU, November 23. In the teaching of first aid in standards five and six of the primary schools and in the secondary schools it is of interest to record that in the first aid classes conducted throughout last year in the Waitaki Boys’ Junior High School, which is the equivalent of standards five and six, under the auspices of the St. John Ambulance Association, more than 100 junior first aid certificates were awarded. Similar arrangements have been made this year. A St. John Ambulance cadet division of 30 members was formed with Mr G. J. Sceats, a master, as superintendent and each year these boys undergo re-examination.
