[UIET TONE ON INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE There was a quiet tone on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning. Buyers for banking shares were confined to one or two of the Australian issues. Insurances showed no change. Sellers alone quoted for meat freezing companies’ shares. Support for industrial companies’ shares came principally for Commonwealth lines. The market for Australian mining shares was. a steady one. Sales of Invercargill borough debentures, 4j per cent., 1940, at £lO2, and 1945 at £lO2, 1.C.1. (pref.) at £1 2/6 and Bank of New Zealand at £2 1/3, were reported.
