SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE (United Press Association) . HASTINGS, October 20. The Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s spring show, which was concluded with people’s day today, was one of the' most successful the society has ever held. The principal attraction today was a splendid parade of prize-winning stock. Crowds of spectators filled the grandstand and overflowed from the terraces surrounding the ring. . The results of the sheep championships were:— Ryelands.—Champion and reserve champion ram: J. Ridd and Sons, Ashhurst. Ram, 30 months and upwards: J. Ridd and Sons 1, Averill and Smith 2. Crossbred Section.—Three unshorn sheep under 18 months: Estate A. McLean 1. Three unshorn sheep: W. D. Femie 1 and 2. Three unshorn ewe hoggets: Estate A. McLean 1. Special classes: Champion Ryeland Ewe. —Massey Agricultural College. Reserve champion.—E. Averill and Sons. Two unshorn flock ewes, for Wilson, Canham and Company’s challenge cup.—W. D. Femie 1.
Meat, wool and breeding section.— Three unshorn ewes under 18 months, for the R. Sunderland Challenge Cup: Estate S. McPhee 1. Working Draughts.—Champion gelding: V. Birds. Bay gelding, four-year-old or upwards: V. Bird 1. Mare, four-year-old or upwards: V. Bird 1. Pair farm horses, gelding or mare: V. Bird 1. General purposes gelding, or mare: V. Bird 1.
