MORE TRADE UNIONISTS IN BRITAIN

MINISTRY OF LABOUR RETURN (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, October 20. The return of the Ministry of Labour of trade union membership at the close of 1937 puts the total for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at 5,851,000, showing an increase of 546,000, or nearly 10 per cent, on the membership at the end of 1936. This increase in membership is the largest recorded for any year since 1919.
