SHOW GIRLS HOWLED DOWN
WOMEN ONLOOKERS INSIST ON MORE CLOTHES (Received October 7, 11.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 7. Show girls, from the “Hollywood Hotel” Revue, which visited Auckland recently, were! howled down by their own sex when they appeared at a charity festival in Martin Place today. The girls appeared in abbreviated shorts on the platforms and were immediately the centre of attraction. .Cries of disapproval came froih women spectators: “You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!” “Go and put on some clothes!” A little later the girls appeared in slacks and heavy coats, thus going to the other extreme.
Government officers recently censored certain acts in the “Hollywood Hotel” Revue, resulting in a lively Press controversy. ' ■
