AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL WOMEN’S TITLE (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 6. The Auckland women’s provincial golf championship was won this afternoon by Mrs R. S. Deighton, of the Titirangi club, who defeated Mrs C. E. Grevatt, Maungakiekie, in the final 4 and 2. The winner played consistently good golf. She recorded bogey figures for five holes and a birdie at the eighth on the outward half, being four up at the turn. Mrs Grevatt improved for a period but was unable to maintain the pressure. The game ended on the 16th. Mrs Deighton previously won the championship in 1925.

BOXING SHARE OF PURSE TO BE WITHHELD (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 6. As a result of an inquiry into the Franklin-Rayner bout the Wellington Boxing Association has decided to withheld Franklin’s share of the purse. CYCLING TOMORROW’S ROAD RACE TO DRUMMOND The Invercargill Amateur Cycle Club will hold a race to Drummond tomorrow for a cup given by Mrs W. Rookes. The distance is 26 miles.
