Aranui and Only One covered four furlongs in 51sec. Floodtide ran the best mile in Imin 43sec, the last six furlongs in Imin 16sec. J. O’Sullivan will ride Esperanto in the Debutant Stakes and Cassio in the Toorak. Conditions were ideal for galloping at Flemington. On the course proper Carpentier beat Sackville over four furlongs in 51Jsec. Brethren and Winterset finished together, both being impressive, after seven furlongs in Imin 35sec. On the tan Elmdale, going well, covered 10 furlongs in 2min 16isec, assisted oyer the last mile (in Imin 46Jsec) by Hautboy. . ■. Gay Romance has recovered from a leg injury suffered on Saturday and worked gently. At Caulfield, on the steeplechase grass, Raeburn easily beat Netherlea over six furlongs in Imin 19sec. Othello ran the best seven furlongs in Imin 29|sec, the first six in Imin 16$sec. Esperanto and Romford finished together after the fastest three furlongs in 36Jsec. Kellie was impressive over six furlongs in Imin 6|sec. Ena ran a comfortable seven furlongs in Imin 34Jsec. , , Wizard ahd Tuckerbox finished together after a mile in Imin 43? sec, the first six furlongs in Imin IGjsec. Ajax was easily alongside Beechwood over seven furlongs in' Imin 30see, easing up after doing the first six in Imin 16sec. Amigo, going well, ran five furlongs in Imin 3Jsec. Xavier was not extended for 52sec. , Temple Coyn, a son of Aurous, beat Dort Regal over nine furlongs in Imin 58sec, the first six in Imin 19sec. The Trump ran nine furlongs on the sand in 2min 3sec, casing'up after the first mile in Innin 47Jsec. On. the tan Dannevirke covered six furlongs in Imin 19sec.
