SERIOUS INJURIES CAUSED WHEN CAR OVERTURNS

(United Press Association) ASHBURTON, September 26. Mr H. F. Nicoll, president of the New Zealand Trotting Association, suffered severe injuries when a cax* capsized on the Main South road six miles north of Ashburton this afternoon. The bursting of a tyre caused the car to turn completely ovex - several times. Nicoll was admitted to private hospital with two broken ribs, a badly fractured thigh, injuries to the head and very severe shock. Mrs Nicoll, the other occupant of the car, escaped with a severe shaking. The car was badly damaged.

MARRIED MAN FATALLY INJURED (United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, September 26. William Frederick Hahn, aged 52, married, with six children, was fatally injured yesterday at Mawheraiti. He was struck by a falling tree when engaged in erecting a saw mill. YOUNG MAN INJURES BACK

Allan Wyeth, aged 28, of Woodlands, was admitted to the Southland Hospital yesterday suffering from injuries to his back caused when he fell from a cart. His condition is satisfactory.
