LAUNCHING OF GIANT NEW LINER

KING AND QUEEN IN SCOTLAND TODAY (British Official Wireless) ' RUGBY, September 24. It is understood their Majesties the King and Queen will both travel to Scotland on Monday night, proceeding direct to Glasgow, where on Tuesday the Queen will launch the new Cunard White Star liner Queen Elizabeth. Their Majesties will make a tour of the Scottish Empire Exhibition in the morning and in the afternoon will drive from Dalmuir station to the municipal buildings at Clydebank, where they will be welcomed by the Provost of Clydebank. They will then drive to John Brown’s shipyard, where the directors of the company will be presented to them. On their Majesties’ arrival at the launching platform Sir Percy Bates', chairman of the Cunard White Star Line, will read an address to which the King will reply, and at 3.30 p.m. (approximately) the Queen will name and launch the new liner.
