The Otago Hunt Club’s meeting was held today in fine windy weather. The track was in perfect order and the totalizator handled £17,453 compared with £14,154 10/- last year. Results were:—

INCREASE OF £420 IN STAKES SPRING MEETING OF GORE RACING CLUB At a meeting of the committee of the Gore Racing Club the programme for the club’s spring meeting was submitted by the programme committee. An increase of £420 in stake money was granted, and the programme, the same as last year’s, with the added money allocated, was adopted. It was decided to adhere to the win and place system of betting. The following officials were appointed for the fixture:—Judge, Mr W. F. Young; starter, Mr C. Gieseler, handicappers, gallops, Mr C. E. Hassall; trots, Mr H. A. Pierce; honorary clerk of scales, Mr M. R. Lawlor. Those present at the meeting were:— Messrs I. T. Martin (chairman), J. B. Nicol, A.. T. Pettigrew, D. L. Poppelwell, P. G. Ross, G. W. Whittingham, F. Wallis, jun., J. E. Rogers, M. R. Lawlor and M. Green. GRAND NATIONAL AT ADELAIDE (Received August 28, 7.40 p.m.) ' ADELAIDE, August 28.
