METALS REMAIN FIRM ON INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE
The market was quiet generally on the Invercargill Stock Exchange on Saturday. There was still an inquiry for Woolworths and banking shares generally, and metals remained firm.
Quotations were as follows:—
RAW MATERIALS (Received August 28, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 27. Quotations lor raw materials with. last week’s prices also shown, as as fallows: Cotton.—Spot, 4.74 d per lb (4.78 d September delivery, 4.55 d (4.57 d Jute.—September-October delivery, £l'J 5/- a ton (£l9 7/6). Rubber.—Para, 7 3 ,4 d per lb (7%d): plantation smoked, S’/gd (7%d). Copra.—September-October delivery, South Sea, £9 10/- a ton (£9 15/-); smoked, £9 10/- (£9 15/-); plantation Rabaul, £lO 12/6 (£lO 15/-). Linseed Oil—£24 5/- a ton (£24 5/-).
