LONDON, August 26. Imperial Airways admits that talks are proceeding with Pan-American Airways about a trans-Pacific service, and adds that it was largely a matter for the governments concerned. It was impossible to conunent on it. Treasure Island, in San Francisco Bay, was named in honour of the Golden Gate world’s fair, and is being made a permanent air port. Imperial Airways, in an interview with the Australian Associated Press, expressed a doubt whether the plan would ever be consummated.
