The winning team was too strong in the forwards. The winners scored four tries, two of which were converted. Wanganui scored three tries, two of which were converted. J. Finlay, G. W. Hunt, B. O’Dea and A. Whyte scored for Manawatu, Finlay converting two. For Wanganui, C. Dickson, L. Burgees and D. G. Barton scored and Barton converted two.
