SMALL YARDING AT OTAUTAU
A small yarding of sheep was forward for the Otautau stock sale yesterday, and prices were on a par with those ruling at recent sales. A feature of the cattle forward was a complete line of 43 Fresian heifers sold by J. R. Mills and Son, on account of Mr J. G. Flett, which averaged £6 15/-. J. R. Mills and Son report having sold: Fifteen fat wethers at 29/3, 38 at 24/7, 45 4, 6 and 8-tooth ewes at 27/-, 5 fat ewes at 14/-, 23 f.m. ewes at 23/6, 5 at 12/3, and 97 ewe hoggets at 26/5. Cattle: One dairy cow at £6 2/6, 1 at £5 15/-, and 1 at £6. Mr Flett’s herd realized: One heifer at £7, 1 at £6 10/-, 3 at £7, 3 at £6 5/-, 1 at £6 15/-, 3 at £7, 1 at £5 10/-, 1 at £6 15/-, 1 at £7 5/-, 3 at £6 7/6, 3 at £6 15/-, 4 at £6 7/6, 1 at £7 15/-. 3 at £6 5/-, 1 at £7 5/-, 1 at £6 15/-, 2 at £7 5/-, 1 at £7 7/6, 2 at £7 2/6 and 1 at £6 10/-. FAIR DEMAND FOR HORSES AT WINTON The top price at the Winton horse sale yesterday was for a six-year-old gelding which realized £3O, while a nine-year-old gelding brought £2B 10/-. There was a fair demand for good sorts and although the prices were not big they were quite up to those of recent sales. Twenty draught mares and geldings were offered and the sale was conducted by the National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd. Sales were:—One six-year-old gelding at £23, one aged gelding at £5, one aged mare £ll 10/-, one six-year-old gelding at £25, one eight-year-old gelding at £2O, one nine-year-old gelding at £2B 10/-, one aged mare at £9, one nine-year-old gelding at £l5 10/-, one five year-old gelding at £2O, one at £26, one six-year-old gelding at £3O, one nine-year-old mare at £l4, one six-year-old gelding at £24, one three-year-old light gelding at £l3 10/-, one six-year-old mare at £22, one five-year-old mare at £26 10/-, one six-year-old light mare at £lB 10/-, one hack at £lO.
