NO RAIN DURING DAY
WORK ON WATERFRONT NOT INTERRUPTED
Though the sky was overcast for most of the day, the weather at Bluff yesterday was fine until the evening and good progress was made on the waterfront, where both the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line motor-ship Karamea and the Blue Star Line motorship, Melbourne Star, were working cargo. A little rain fell last evening. Both of these vessels will be in port at least until the end of the week and it is possible that the Melbourne Star will not finish until Monday. Tomorrow the Union Company s steamer Waimarino is expected to arrive from Dunedin to discharge cargo from Auckland and she will be in port until Monday. On Sunday the Union Company’s Wainui is due from Dunedin to discharge and load general cargo. Towards the end of the week the Waitaki, from Melbourne, the Waiana, from Dunedin, and the M.-A.-N.Z. Line steamer Canadian Constructor, from Montreal, via ports, are scheduled to reach Bluff.
No other overseas vessels are set down to work at Bluff during August and it is possible that when the present busy period is over a comparatively quiet spell will follow.
