INTOXICATED DRIVER OF CAR

HNE OF £25 IMPOSED (United Press Association) ASHBURTON, July 3. Hector Claude McDonald, manager of the United Friendly Societies’ dispensary, was fined £25 and his licence was cancelled till July 1940, on a charge of being intoxicated in a car. The defendant was arrested after a chase by the traffic inspector and a constable and after McDonald ignored the signal to stop. Counsel said defendant visited friends and had drink which took effect when he went out in the cold air.
