WAIMUMU

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Waimumu Women’s Institute was held in the hall. Mrs G. Smith presided over a good attendance. The roll call was “My Favourite Song.” Miss Copland gave the motto for the month. Programmes for the next six months were discussed, and it was decided to hold another children’s Christmas party in December. Invitations were received for the

Charlton Women’s Institute birthday party. A display of handwork was much admired. A competition, “Story Without Words,” was won by Mesdames F. Smith, J. Peart and J. Miller. Miss K. McSweeney won a “Film Star” competition. The monthly competitions resulted as follows: Mrs G. Smith (lavender novelties), Mrs Coe (heaviest potato), Mrs D. McGill (bloom).
