At an executive meeting of the New Zealand Deerstalkers’ Association held in Invercargill, advice was received from Mr E. J. Herricks, Hastings, accepting the position of patron of the association. Mr Herricks is well known to deerstalkers throughout New Zealand and he played an important part in opening the wapiti country in western Te Anau. Sir Herricks secured the only bull moose shot in New Zealand, and his collection of red deer heads is among the best.
