RESIGNATION OF TWO AIDES-DE-CAMP
PRIME MINISTER DECLINES TO COMMENT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 24. Both the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) and the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) said they had no statement to make when asked this evening whether any significance attached to the announcement that Colonel A. S. Wilder and Colonel N. L. Macky would relinquish their appointments as honorary aides-de-camp to the Governor-General (Viscount Galway). The two officers were signatories of a manifesto recently issued by four senior territorial officers commenting on the Government’s defence policy.
