You know the story of Tom and the Water Babies, don’t you? You remember how poor little Tom, the sweep, was taken to a big house, and told to go up a chimney and sweep it. And you remember how he came down another chimney and saw a little pink and gold girl sleeping in a bed. Then he realised how dirty he was. He was chased by men who thought he was a thief, and fell into a pool, where he was washed clean by the waters, and carried down to the sea. Here he met Mrs Do-As-You-Would-Be-Done-By, ana had many strange adventures. But some day you must read “The Water Babies.” by Charkj Kingsley, for yourself. ,
