THE PRIME MINISTER AND SICKNESS

To The Editor

Sir, —Hearken ye sick people to “P” in this morning’s issue, who says that your bodily ailments are caused through loose living, venereal diseases, excessive drinking, addiction to drugs. Only the prudent good living will have healthy bodies. Kindly remember, ye sick and afflicted, when your bodies are racked with pain you are only getting the reward for your evil doing. And ye with healthy bodies must not put out a helping hand to the weak because you must.realize that a system of rewards and punishments must operate in society. Hearken ye all unto “P” and remember the Coalition’s way of dealing with wasters and sickness although hard, was just. Back to the wheelbarrows and ditches ye oneeyed and one-armed crowd of malingerers; teach the children to live without much food and clothes. This is prudence and thrift The Hon. W. Parry’s way of a national health instruction campaign is all wrong.—Yours, etc., AN EYE FOR AN EYE. June 23, 1938.
