AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIALS EASE ON INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE

There was an easier market for Australian industrials on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday. Broken Hill Proprietary eased to £2 18/6 and G. J. Coles were lower with buyers at £4 1/3, sellers asking £4 2/-. No buyers came forward for Dunlops, for which sellers asked £1 0/8. Little interest was taken in banks, the only lines in demand being Nationals at £2 13/-, and Unions steady at £8 5/-. Oil shares again attracted a lot of attention, Taranakis advancing to 15/-, and Oils selling at 5/7 to 5/11. Australian mining shares were dull. Broken Hill South ex dividend were offered at £1 6/-, and Mount Lyells had buyers at the lower figure of £1 2/4. Mount Morgans were also easier in price. Sales of Woolworths (Sydney) at £1 0/6, Taranaki Oils at 14/11 and Commercial Banks at 15/10, were reported.
