BRITISH ATTITUDE TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA

MR CHAMBERLAIN’S ANSWER TO QUESTION

(British Official Wireless) RUGBY, June 15.

Asked in the House of Commons if the Government would make it clear that it did not entertain frontier revision as a possible contribution to the solution of the problem of the minorities in Czechoslovakia, the Prime Minister (Mr Neville Chamberlain) said: “His Majesty’s Government is not prepared to lay down conditions which would in its opinion be appropriate to a solution of the problem of the minorities in Czechoslovakia. This matter is now being discussed between the Government of Czechoslovakia and the Sudeten Germans, and his Majesty’s Government sincerely hopes that these discussions will result in an agreed settlement.”
