VERDICT OF SUICIDE AT INQUEST

DEATH OF FARM LABOURER (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 19. That death was due to poison selfadministered was the Coroner’s verdict at the inquest this morning on Victor Charles Whittaker, aged 21, single, a farm labourer, employed near Gore. Whittaker’s married sister deposed that he came to her home on Sunday last looking depressed and stating he had had a disagreement with the girl with whom he was keeping company at a place near Gore. Yesterday she went to town, leaving him alone in the house. The police evidence showed the finding of a bottle of poison and a letter expressing his intention to commit suicide.
