GIFT EVENING AT CLIFDEN

BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM HONOURED A gift evening in honour of Miss Freda Dixon, who is to be married shortly, was held in the Clifden hall on a recent evening. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs J. Cochran and Mr James Dixon, sen. Extras were played by Misses N. Scott and E. Irwin, and Mr W. ; Smith acted as master of ceremonies. Mr D. Langmuir spoke on behalf of those present, and presented Miss Dixon with the gifts from her friends. Mr W. Smith spoke on behalf of Mr R. Irwin’s fellow-employees, and presented Miss . Dixon and Mr Irwin with a dinner set. Mr R. Irwin replied. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Betty Rowley and Mr Ivan Bates. Among those present were Mr and Mrs W. Dixon, Mr and Mrs D.
