Mrs John Bryce, Winton, returned last evening from a holiday in Gisborne and Wellington and on the West Coast. Mr and Mrs R. E. Hyde, Edington Mams, Otahuti, returns to town today. Mr and Mrs F. W. Patrick, of Invercargill, were among the recent callers at New Zealand House, The Strand, London. Mr and Mrs A. F. Speight, Redcliff, return to the country today after a short visit to town when they were the guests of Mrs R. J. Gilmour, Herbert street. Last evening Mr and Mrs A. E. W. McDonald, Duke street, gave a dinner party in honour of their niece. Miss June Bath, and some of her friends before they made their debut at the Southland Girls’ High School Old Girls Association dance. Sefton, who were recently married. The function took place in the Thornbury hall, and

a pleasant time was spent in dancing, music being supplied by Messrs J. Mitchell and Cooke. Mr Lee, on behalf of those present, wished the guests of honour every happiness. Mr J. B.
