REVOLT FEARED IN MEXICO

President Goes To Centre Of Unrest SURRENDER OF ARMS DEMANDED (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received May 19, 8.20 p.m.) MEXICO CITY, May 19. Mexico is faced with the threat of a revolt. The President (General Lazaro Cardenas) arrived at San Luis Potosi in a heavily-guarded train and demanded in a speech that General Saturnino Cedillo, the overlord of the state of San Luis Potosi, should surrender his arms to the Government. General Cedillo last night retired from the Army List at his own request,

after his refusal to take over command of the Michoacan military zone, ostensibly because of illness. General Cardenas gave General Cedillo a personal guarantee and demanded that he should place all his arms and munitions in the hands of the authorities. General Cardenas’s action in going to the heart of a territory reported to be ready for revolt has made a deep impression on his throughout the nation.
