WEDNESDAY (Before His Honour, Mr Justice Kennedy) An originating summons for an interpretation of the will of Isabella Annie Hamilton, of Invercargill, and identification of the beneficiaries named was heard. . , The plaintiffs were .George Menvale Broughton and William Robert Reginald Cruickshank, executors of the will. They were represented by Mr M. H. Mitchel. ... The defendants were Elizabeth McLean, of Queenstown (Mr H. J. Macalister), Caroline Russell, Invercargill (Mr H. E. Russell), Sara Marjorie Daniel, of Invercargill, Marjorie Schmidt, of Woodlands, Milert Peter Schmidt, of Woodlands, Catherine Edna Hamilton, of Invercargill (all represented by Mr N. L. Watson), the Deacons Court of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church Invercargill (Mr J. C. Pram), and William Frederick Hunter Stone, of Invercargill (Mr J. Tait). After hearing counsel _ his Honour said he would reserve his judgment. The following cases, having been settled out of Court, were struck out. Hugh McColl Lee v. Thomas Baird, claim for £1142 for negligence (motor Ca aiest Orr v. William Francis Lewis, claim for £5OO, general damages and £290 3/6 special damages (motor case; for alleged negligence. -r William Stoddart Wilson v. Hamilton’s (Australasia), Limited, claim tor £1066 2/6 and interest (alleged misrepresentation). Thomas Rae Eades v. J. Johnston and Co., Ltd., claim for £lOOO, general damages, and £26 18/6 special damages for alleged negligence. Direct Fish and Oyster Supply Co. v. Urwin and Company (trawler collision case); and Urwin and Company v. Direct Fish and Oyster Supply Co. (claim and counter-claim). BUILDING CONTRACTOR SENT TO PRISON (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, May 18. Found guilty of negligently driving a motor-car, causing death, Kaspar Gray Webley, a building contractor, was this morning sentenced by Mr Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court, to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour and he was debarred from holding a driving licence for five years. SITTING AT WANGANUI (United Press Association) WANGANUI, May 18. In the Supreme Court Dardanelles Paranihi, who was charged with having broken the terms of his probation, was sentenced by Mr Justice Blair to reformative treatment for three years. William Patrick Doody, who pleaded guilty to four charges of indecent assault on males, was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within three years, certain conditions being imposed.'
