By dipping ink-stained cottons or woollens in cold water for five minutes and then washing garments in lukewarm water to which a little borax has been added, is a good way of removing the stains. Mending Bowl. Hole in an enamel bowl can be mended by pressing a small piece of putty on the inside of the x hole and a large piece on the outside. Leave until quite hard. Table Marks. Heat marks on table can be removed by rubbing them over with the end of a candle and then with a piece of warm flannel till all trace of wax has gone. Dark Eyelashes. If you want to strengthen and darken your eyelashes, mix six drops of oil of rosemary into half an ounce of white vaseline, and apply with a little brush every night. Two Toothbrushes. You know it is wise to keep two toothbrushes in use alternately so tnat each of them gets 24 hours for drying-but you probably have not thought of having one soft and me hard. The softer brush medium firmness, should be used at night because its bristles bend round the sides of the teeth and renw’e any particles from crevices. The hard brush in the morning stimulates the gums, polishes the enamel and removes stains too stubborn for the softer one.
