MAYORAL ELECTION

MR MILLER ADDRESSES ELECTORS Mr John Miller, the present Mayor of Invercargill, addressed electors at the Parish Hall, Gladstone, on Saturday night. There was a fair attendance. Mr W. Batchelor was the chairman. Mr Miller gave a general review of the improvements which had been carried out by the City Council during the last term. He mentioned that other loans had been granted by the Local Government Loans Board and that the work would be gone on with by the new council. A resolution moved by Mr Chesterman and seconded by Mr Northcote “that a vote of thanks and confidence be given to Mr Miller” was carried.
