MRS STEWART’S ADDRESS

To The Editor Sir, —Your correspondent “Enzedder” appears not to have read my letter regarding the sales tax, carefully. May I be allowed to repeat myself for his benefit. I said that in view of the incessant and urgent calls on finance which have occurred since the Government assumed office, no clear thinking person would expect the Government to remove this tax.

During the next term of office these demands may have slackened off, and then it will be done. “Enzedder’s” Shakespearean quotation was illchosen. He should think it over.— Yours, etc., S. HADFIELD. Hollyford, March 16, 1938.
