Mrs M. O’Connor, New Plymouth, has returned to the north from a short visit to Invercargill.

Mrs J. Marshall, Dunedin, with her son, Peter, has been the guest of Mr and Mrs T. Walker, Balfour. Mrs A. Gulliver, Kelvin street, and Mrs T. Lynch, Clyde street, have returned from a visit to Queenstown.

MisS J. Wilson, Dunedin, has been spending a holiday with her uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs R. Wilson, Balfour. Mrs C. C. Anderson, Don street, left yesterday for the north en route to Sydney, where she will spend a holiday. Mrs B. Voight, Pukerau, accompanied by her small daughter, Glenice, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs G. Rutter, Balfour.

On Wednesday the women of the Drummond district met to bid farewell to Mrs W. J. Barr, who is leaving ,to live at Alexandra. Miss M. McLeish made a presentation on behalf of those present, and Mrs R. Hallum presented a gift to Mrs Barr from the members of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Competitions were won by Mrs McEwan and Miss M. Miss R. Gothard and Miss Simon, Invercargill, were the guests of Miss Wraytt for the week-end. Mr and Mrs G. Low, Dunedin, are visiting Mt and Mrs T. A. McLean. Miss I. Harris, Albury, has been the guest of Mrs H. Soper. Mr and Mrs H. Adams, Canaird Station, are spending a holiday at The Rocks, Riverton. Mrs Goble visited Dipton for the school jubilee. The Misses Meek, Riverton, were recent guests of Miss Wraytt. Mr and Mrs George Menlove are visiting Mr and Mrs W. G. Menlove, Lumsden.

WEDDING FORLONG-WILSON The wedding took place at Wanganui recently of Nancy Noble, only daughter of Mr R. Wilson and the late Mrs Wilson, of Wanganui, and formerly of Winton, to lan Percival, youngest son of Mrs H. G. Forlong and the late Mr Forlong, of Wanganui. Mr Wilson escorted his daughter who wore a slightly-trained American model gown of magnolia satin. The back of the bodice was inset in a deep yoke effect with embroidered net appliqued in leaf design, the net continuing down the full sleeves to below the elbow and then finishing with- a tight-fitting cuff. Diamante clips ornamented the square neckline in front, where deep folds gave an effective finish. The centre panel in the skirt, which was moulded to the figure, was cut on the bias. She wore a veil of tulle and Brussels lace (a family heirloom) and carried a bouquet of blooms in soft shades to match her frock. Miss M. Thompson, of Lower Hutt, and Miss C. Annabell, of Wanganui, were bridesmaids. Mr L. Boyes was

best man, and Mr G. Wilson, of Wellington, was groomsman. At the reception the guests were received by the bride’s aunt, Miss .D. Wilson, who acted as hostess wearing a frock of wedgewood blue georgette shirred on the corsage and sleeves. Her blue racello straw hat was to match, and she carried a posy of flame-shaded flowers..
