A compromise has been reached in which Dr Martin Niemoller, leader of the organized campaign against “Nazification” of the churches, has received back his counsel for the resumption of the trial tomorrow, says the Berlin correspondent of The Times. A slight relaxation in State pressure on the Evangelical Church is becoming apparent. Many Church offices closed months ago by the Gestapo (secret police) have been permitted to reopen.
