RECORDS FOR PORT OF AUCKLAND

(United Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 15. Describing the year as being one of marked activity and progress, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board (the Hon. T. Bloodworth) informed members at the annual meeting that records had been established in the tonnage of shipping using the port, the volume of outward and inward shipping and the number of passengers carried to and from Auckland. After meeting all charges there was a surplus on the year’s working of £40,625. The port’s trade last year amounted to 29.18 per cent, more than in 1929, the year which established the board’s record before the depression.
