GENERAL NOTES The Union Steam Ship Company’s coastal steamer Waipahi left Bluff for Dunedin last evening. The Federal steamer Durham has been diverted to Lyttelton because of the congestion of shipping at the port of Bluff and will not arrive at Bluff until February 21. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rotorua, Homeward bound, arrived at Panama on February 12 and sailed from Colon the following afternoon. To continue her Homeward loading, the Shaw, Savill liner Akaroa arrived at Wellington on Sunday afternoon from Port Chalmers. She is to leave there again today

for Auckland, and returns to Wellington on February 23 to fill up, being scheduled to clear that port finally on February 26 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. The M.-A.-N.Z. Line steamer Canadian Constructor, from St. John, arrived at Wellington on Monday. She is to leave again today for Sydney to continue discharge. From London, via Kingston and the Panama Canal, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-liner Rangitiki reached Auckland on Saturday morning. She is due at Wellington about February 19 to complete discharge. Cabled advice has been received by the Shaw, Savin Company that the Fordsdale cleared Colon last Thursday. She left Lyttelton on January 21 for London, via the Panama Canal. The Federal Company advises that the Piako has been further delayed at Auckland, and is not now due at Wellington before tomorrow to continue discharge of her New York cargo. LONDON’S SHIPPING During the week ended December 24, 1121 vessels, representing 1,076,920 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these, 517 vessels (849,474 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 604 vessels (227,446 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included seven meat cargoes—two from Australia, four from New Zealand and one from South America, comprising 371,000 carcasses of lamb and mutton, 52,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits and sundries.
