CRICKET TESTS IN 1940

Brisbane will not be deprived of a Test match when the English cricket team visits Australia in 1940-41. This has been decided by the Australian Cricket Board of Control. Melbourne, in spite of the huge gates last season, is to have only one Test. This is in accordance with the procedure by which Melbourne and Sydney have two matches in turn. On the last tour Melbourne had two Tests, and attendances were so large that it was suggested that Brisbane might be deprived of a Test on the next tour, so that Melbourne could have two games out of her turn.
